Rohr’s Eagles wobble to home draw in Benin

...Ikwunze raps Eagles manager

By George Aluo

Shambolic performance! That was what the Super Eagles put up friday night in Benin as they were forced to a 4-4 draw by the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

The eight goal thriller was one in which the visitors came from four goals down to draw level.

First half ended with the Eagles leading 4-1. On resumption of play, the Sierra Leonians came out fighting and scored three goals that cancelled out the Eagles first half lead.

The match played without fans was one in which Victor Osimhen was stretchered out injured after landing badly with his hands.

The Eagles defence in the second half made several school boy mistakes that badly exposed goalkeeper Okoye.

In his reaction minutes after the game, Football officianado, Ejikeme Ikwunze (Mr Football) told newstap.com.ng that the performance of the team was nothing but an embarrassment. Ikwunze had before the game warned that Rohr can not afford to under rate Sierra Leone.

“I saw this coming…Rohr must take the blame because his team was tactically and technically deficient…”
