Scorpion, Sojar Boy Headline Battle of The Ages Boxing Context series 14.0

Boxing fans in the country will on September, 26 2027, witness another face off between the two best Lightweight fighters in the country when Ridwan Akanji Oyekola a.k.a Scorpion and Tosin Osaigbovo known as Sojar Boy climb the square ropes in their much anticipated rematch tagged ‘No Reconciliation’

The ten rounds encounter slated for the Gymnasium Hall of the National Institute For Sports ( NIS), Lagos which is the main bout of the day, will see both boxers try to finally settle scores in the ring to determine who claims the Lightweight Africa WBA Gold Title.

Other fights slated for the day are; eight rounds national lightweight challenge between Ahmed Lawal ( Small Tyson) and Golden Boy Sodiq Oyakojo just as Saheed Abdullai will square up against Abdul- Afeez Oshoba in an eight rounds national welterweight challenge contest.

On the same card, Uzochukwu Remy Cadet will face Omejeh Chimaobi in a six rounds heavyweight challenge with Damilare Arowolo meeting Azeem Bakare in a ten rounds middleweight challenge fight.

There will also be an international ten rounds WBA Africa lightweight title fight between Nigerian Idowu Rasheed and Ghanian Benjamin Tetteh with Rilliwan ‘ Baby Face’ Babatunde meeting Michael Kosisochukwu Ani in an eight rounds national super welterweight challenge context.

The highlight of the night will be a celebrity fight between professional boxer, Viper and body builder, Kelvin Power aimed at bringing entertainment to the boxing show.

Speaking on the forthcoming fights, Promoter of the fight and President of De Lads Boxing Promotions Alhaji Wasiu Waheed Alabi while assuring fans that they will get the best of boxing show, noted that all logistics have been put in place to ensure a successful event.

He also explained that the purpose of introducing celebrity fight was to bring in some element of entertainment in the boxing show.

” I want to assure boxing enthusiasts that we are good to go. We’ve put all logistics on ground to ensure a hitch free and successful fight night and with the arrangement we have made with security agencies, there won’t be any security breach on that day.

“So, I call on all lovers of boxing to troop out in their thousands and witness the best of boxing promotion which De Lads is noted for”, he stressed.

Also speaking, President of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C), Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, commended De Lads Boxing Promotions for helping change the face of professional boxing in the country.

He noted that the enabling environment created by the board has helped in encouraging more promoters to come into the game, just as he promised that they will continue to sustain the momentum to enable Nigerian pugilists have opportunity of having a crack at both the African, Commonwealth and world titles.

Meanwhile some of the boxers have been talking tough ahead of the fight day.

Speaking ahead of his fight with Sodiq Oyokojo in the lightweight class, Ahmed Lawal ( Small Tyson) vowed to teach his opponent a boxing lesson while Sodiq fired back that the ring will be the best judge.

Also Baby Face Rilwan Babatunde who described himself as a mortuary attendant, and Michael Kosisochukwu Ani both boasted to retire each other on that day even as Idowu Rasheed advised his Ghanian opponent, Benjamin Tetteh not to bother coming for the fight as he’ll be stelreched back to his country.
