Spires 5-Aside Tourney: All Saints, Chekas, Others Secure Semi-Final Spot In Badagry

There have been plenty of fireworks in the Badagry division as the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer championship serves pulsating fixtures at the weekend.
The tournament got on the way on Saturday with a close battle between Royal FC, and Smiler football club, but the later triumphed via penalty shootout to book their place in the last four after a 3-3 draw at regulation time.
A regular name in the competition Chekas FC annihilated Divinely Blessed football club 4-0 in the second fixture as they sealed their place in the semi-finals.
The Hon. Lukmon Olumoh Sports Arena, Awodi-Ora, in Ajeromi Ifelodun LGA, came alive again on Sunday as Emaljus FC and Olhan football club delivered a 10 goals thriller. Emaljus secured the win in the 6-4 encounter.
The defending champions of Badagry All Saints FC recorded a commanding 9-3 victory over Rising Star football club. The Coach Agbo Anebi tutored side eye a possibility of reaching a third consecutive final in the division.
Hostilities will resume on Wednesday, June 17th, when All Saints lock-horns against a familiar opponent Chekas Football Club, while Smiler FC will file out against Emaljus football club for a place in the final.
Obi Moses Henry of All Saints FC leads the goalscoring log with seven goals. The lanky forward will hope to consolidate when his side returns to action in the semi-finals.
The top three teams in the Badagry division will join their counterparts from Badagry, Epe, and Lagos Island as part of the qualified teams for the state championship in November.
The divisional champion will receive the sum of N500,000, the runner-up will pocket N300,000, while the third best team will walk away with the sum of N100,000 in consolation prize.
