The Spires Sports Meet-tech Initiative is set to train over 200 participants as part of its drive to empower young people beyond sports.
The week long program which is part of activities leading to the grand finale of the annual Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament, is designed to train the attendees on modern tech skills such as Microsoft Word, Cybersecurity, Machine learning, Coding, amongst others.
This year’s training program will run from Monday, 2nd to Friday, 6th November, at Digital Bridge Institute in Oshodi, Lagos.
At the end of the training scheme, fifty (50) participants will be presented with brand new laptop computers to accelerate tech development.
The initiator of the program, Dr. Bankole Allibay said Spires has engaged tech experts to serve as resource persons for the respective sessions.
” We have assembled some of the best brains in the tech industry to train these young people, and no section will be left untouched in the very comprehensive syllabus.”
” This won’t end at just training. We have also set up machineries to monitor the progress of participants to aid their all-round growth and commitments.” Allibay said.
