SWAN Harps On Sacrifice, Love, Unity As Muslims Celebrate Sallah
As Muslims, mostly the Sporting Media and other stakeholders globally celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has harped on the need for all to embrace love, sacrifice and unity in their daily living.
SWAN President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, in a Sallah message, conveyed through the Association’s Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, Wednesday, noted that the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha reminds faithful and indeed everyone on the need to make sacrifice, unity and peaceful co-existence essential aspects of life as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
While highlighting on the deeper essence of the Sallah day, President Benjamin wished all Muslim Ummah “a blessed Eid! May this special occasion bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to your home.
“May Allah accept your prayers, sacrifices, and all your good deeds this Eid-el-Kabir. Eid Mubarak!
“On this joyous occasion, may the divine blessings of Allah fill your life with joy and success. Have a wonderful celebration!
“May your homes be filled with happiness and endless blessings. Let us unite in the spirit of love and continue to push our sports to greater heights. Keep the green-white-green flag flying high!
“At this time of spiritual renewal and unity, we extend our heartfelt greetings to you and your loved ones. May the blessings of Eid bring peace to your heart, prosperity to your home, and continued progress to our shared endeavours.
“Let us draw inspiration from the noble sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and embrace the spirit of giving, tolerance, and community service. As partners in truth, development, and positive storytelling, your support has been the strength behind our mission.”
The SWAN President who emphasised that this season also reminds all on the need to remain focused, welcomed recent moves by the leadership of National Sports Commission (NSC) to revamp the various National Sports stadia in Nigeria, while calling for sustained efforts and timely delivery.
He also spoke on the need for a sustained approach that will guarantee increased dividends from sports infrastructural enhancement and human capital development.
