Political analyst urges Gov. Ugwuanyi to anoint Dr Kingsley Udeh as successor

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Enugu State begin to shop for their next governor, a  political analyst, Dr Kenneth Anozie, has asked Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to anoint Mr Kingsley Udeh as his successor.

Anozie, who made the plea in a statement on Tuesday in Enugu, said that his preferred aspirant was from the Enugu East Senatorial Zone, which was expected to produce the next governor of the state.

The analyst, who hinged his plea on the party’s zoning arrangement, said that anointing Udeh would be one of the greatest legacies that Ugwuanyi would bequeath to Enugu State.

According to him, this will ensure the positive paradigm shift that the people have been clamouring is successfully actualised.

He said Udeh, who had solid and versatile academic qualifications with requisite political and governance experience, had a youth-base and character that the people of Enugu would like their next governor to possess.

“In every season of political contest, there are men and women whose kernel the gods have cracked as the political system throws them up to become the cynosure of all eyes, while the political permutations fall in their favour.

“It is palpable that this mantra is playing its divine role in who emerges as the successor to Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu).

“The PDP family in Enugu State, as usual, is poised to continue its winning streaks by fielding the right candidate,’’ Anozie said.

“As a jolly good fellow, who matches his words with actions, Dr Kingsley Udeh has procured his expression of interest and nomination forms, which gives him the impetus to now run as the Enugu State guber-aspirant of the PDP.

“Enugu State has an unwritten understanding of zoning; and, Dr Udeh, being a native of Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area, falls within the zone that the next governor is expected to come from.

“His previous governance duties as the Senior Special Assistant to the incumbent governor on Development Aid Coordination and Mobilisation, later as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, endows him with the versatile experience to pilot the affairs of Enugu State.’’

He urged the people of Enugu to rally round and hire Udeh as the Best Man to oversee the affairs of the state in the succeeding administration, adding that the aspirant was clean and with no baggage that would encumber his service.
