NPFL: Ekwueme thumbs up Sunshine Stars’ manager, Edith Agoye

By George Aluo

Ex international, Ifeanyi Ekwueme has given a pat on the back to Sunshine Stars of Akure manager, Edith Agoye.

Ekwueme said Agoye deserves commendation given the fact that he built a new team in no time. He pointed out that unlike other managers, Agoye started building the present squad he is parading in the NPFL from the scratch just some few weeks before the commencement of the abridged league.

“I was with Agoye at the pre season I organized in Aba and I know what his team looked like then. I am surprised that he has been able in no time to build a solid side that is competing well in the league,” Ekwueme said.

He called on fans of the club and the management to rally round the youthful tactician insisting that he would go places with the club if given the much needed support.

It would be noted that Sunshine was  last weekend held to a 1-1 draw at home by Rangers in a game they needed to win to brighten their chances of making it to the Super 6 in Lagos.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the Ondo state government intends to sell and hands off the club at the end of the current season.
