Team Nigeria maintains dominance at NFL Flag American football African Championships in Kenya
In what is a moral boosting preparation for the Nigeria Flag Football team ahead of the World cup in Germany, Team Nigeria successfully won two Gold medals and one silver at the just concluded NFL Flag American football African Championship in Kenya.
Team Nigeria who are the African Champions won Gold with the female team, and Gold with the Youth U-13 mixed but narrowly lost the Gold to Egypt in the male category.
Director General of the National Sports Commission NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade has congratulated the Nigeria flag football team for their show of dominance in Kenya, describing the sport as one of Nigeria’s fastest growing sports with huge potential to usurp some of the Country’s leading sports in the near future.
” I want to salute the President of the Nigerian Federation of American Football ( NFAF), Babajide Akeredolu and his entire board for this great feat and it only showed that Nigeria has unprecedented qualities in every aspect of sports and we only need to continue to provide the enablers for consistent success to be achieved”.
” I want to charge the Federation to use this tournament as a springboard as the team prepares for the World cup in Germany later this year and they should be assured that the Commission will continue to support them to have a good outing at the World cup”, he concluded.
