Tunisia Beat Nigeria to Reach 33rd Africa Men’s Junior Handball Championship Final
Tunisia defeated Nigeria’s U-20 Men’s Handball team 44–23, on Friday, in the semi-final of the 33rd Africa Men’s Junior Handball Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to book their place in the final.
Tunisia dominated the opening half and went into the break with a 23–11 lead with Nigeria struggling to contain the North Africans, who maintained their control after the restart and continued to extend their advantage.
The Coach David Emmanuel-tutored side fought hard in the second half but could not reduce the deficit as Tunisia eventually secured a 44–23 victory to advance to the final.
Nigeria will now face Angola in the third-place match as they seek to end their impressive campaign with a bronze medal.
The team has already secured qualification for the 2027 IHF Men’s U21 Handball World Championship in North Macedonia following their quarter-final victory over Guinea.
