Young talented United States of America based Nigerian striker, Timoni Gbalajobi is set to switch allegiance to Nigeria as he eyes national U-17 Golden Eaglets call up.

The free-scoring forward who has previously featured for the U.S. U-15 men’s youth national team, we gathered is considering representing Nigeria at the U-17 level.
The country has lost so many of its stars to foreign countries including the U.S. which has Folarin Balogun in their ranks and many others like Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke for England, Michael Olise France, David Alaba Austria, Manuel Akanji Switzerland to mention a few.
Gbalajobi told us it will be a dream come true to feature for Nigeria. “To play for Nigeria will be special. It has been a long standing ambition and it will be a thing of pride.
“Every young player dreams of playing for their country once the opportunity presents itself”, he said.
For Nigeria, this is the best time to secure the players future before he debuts for another country at full international level.
The 16 year old forward continues to be a highly productive attacker for the Philadelphia Union’s youth ranks.
In February 2026, he secured the U-16 Golden Boot at the elite Snow Bowl academy tournament.
Last season he churned out impressive statistics of 35 goals 7 assists from 45 matches to underscore his immense potential.
