Uzodinma assures Heartland of support

By George Aluo
Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma has assured Heartland of total support this season.
Uzodinma who addressed the players at the Okigwe Township stadium after their 1-0 victory over Sunshine of Akure said he would make needed funds available as a way of firing up the players.
The governor who arrived the stadium minutes after the game against Sunshine told the players that he had actually planned to watch the game but was held up by other state functions, a situation that saw him arrive Okigwe late.
Captain of the side, Ikechukwu Ezenwa who spoke on behalf of the players told the governor that they were not being well motivated pointing out that they were being owed match bonuses and other allowances.
Uzodinma after listening to the players said he would do more for the club declaring that Heartland would lack nothing.
It would be noted that Heartland started the season on a bad note losing to MFM at home and drawing some other home games.
The Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side has however managed to bounce back after beating Enyimba in Aba a fortnight ago.
The club is also facing management crisis with the Interim board chairman, Babatunde Ezekwem holding on tenaciously to the club.
Ezekwem who was the Imo PDP chairman has since dumped his party for APC in a bid to retain the Heartland job.
