Volleyball: Nigeria Sends 12 Coaches to FIVB Level I Coaching Certification in Ghana
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced that twelve (12) prospective volleyball coaches from the country will participate in the FIVB Level I Coaching Certification Course scheduled to hold in Accra, Ghana, from August 3 to 8, 2026.
The Nigerian contingent comprises national team players, former international athletes, and coaches from various league clubs across the country.
The delegation includes seven (7) female coaches and five (5) male coaches, reflecting the Federation’s deliberate commitment to developing a new generation of technically competent coaches, with special emphasis on increasing female participation in volleyball coaching.
The Federation recognizes that the number of qualified female volleyball coaches in Nigeria remains relatively low. This certification programme is therefore a strategic investment aimed at bridging that gap, empowering women in coaching, and strengthening the country’s coaching capacity for sustainable volleyball development.

It is worthy to note that the FIVB made the final selection of the twelve participants from an initial list of fifteen candidates who were screened and presented by the Chairman, Technical Committee/Secretariat of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation.
The NVBF congratulates the selected participants and wishes them a successful and rewarding certification programme.
The Federation said it is confident that the knowledge and practical skills acquired during the course will significantly contribute to the continued growth and development of volleyball in Nigeria.
