WAFCON 2026: Forget Unfulfilled FG’s Promises For Now, Avre Tasks Falcons

A one time top striker of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Patience Avre Odeli has admonished Falcons due to begin their WAFCON title defence in Morocco soon to temporarily ignore pains and anxiety over unsettled promises of the Federal government and concentrate on their games.

There has been uncertainty over fulfilment of 100,000 US Dollars, land and other largesse per player announced by the government after Super Falcons won their 10th African crown in Morocco last year.

Chicago United States of America based Avre Odeli expressed shock over the delayed fulfilment over a year ago, and has appealed to players and officials to remain focused on winning the title once again.

Speaking on behalf of Ex Super Falcons players Worldwide, she advised the team to ignore the frustration from the government and make names for themselves.

” Truth is that the team is baffled and angry for delayed release of the promised largesse. Our body is also disappointed. Some of us never got promises but got used and dumped.Team in Morocco should keep praying and playing because they have great carriers ahead of them. Remember beside the WAFCON title, there’s FIFA Women’s World cup ticket at stake in Morocco.
