WBU Belt: Nigeria’s Towolawi Defeats German Pascal Wolters Via TKO

Nigerian boxer, Ajibola Kabiru Towolawi over the weekend recorded 11th round technical knockout to emerged new World Boxing Union (WBU) German cruiserweight Champion against German Pascal Wolters in bout tagged: Night of The Rebels held at the Dreifachturnhalle, Huckelhoven-Ratheim, Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany.
The 42 years old Towolawi who is popularly known as KB Godson landed a left hook on the lower jaw of undefeated German boxer Wolters in the one minute eleven second of the 11th round in the action packed bout to claim the belt.
The former Lagos based boxer now has a record 18 wins and five loses in his professional boxing career fights while the 33 years old Pascal Wolters never tasted defeat in his 10 professional boxing career fights got his first and only one loss via a technical knockout from Towolawi.
Reacting to the victory, the Vice Chairman of Oyo State Chapter of Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC), Hon. Bako Arowolo who is a friend and big fan of the Nigerian boxer described the win in far away Germany, against the German top boxer as a respectable and commendable achievement.
He however, urged other boxers at home to emulate the resilient and unrelenting spirit Towolawi which earned him victory at the tail end of the bout work, saying if not for the TKO, he might not be adjudged winner.
