You’ll Come Back Stronger And Better – NFSC Boss Ikpea Rallies Injured Ajibade After Falcons’ 5-0 Thrashing Of Comoros

By Joseph Odoekwu, KSM

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC), Rev. (Amb) Samuel Ikpea, has sent words of encouragement to Super Falcons Captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, after she sustained an injury in Nigeria’s 5-0 victory over Comoros.

The Super Falcons, who are eyeing qualification for the LA 2028 Olympic Games, thrashed Comoros 5-0 in Ikenne to complete a 7-0 aggregate win and set up a next-round clash with Cameroon.

However, Captain Ajibade was stretchered off in the 28th minute following a head collision with an opponent.

Ikpea, who watched the game live, sent words of comfort to the skipper.

“You will come back better and stronger,” Ikpea said. “It’s unfortunate that the incident happened, but we believe God knows best and will heal you.”

“If Ajibade had played till the end, maybe something worse could have happened, but we thank God the situation is not worse. She will get medical attention and will obviously get better.”

While wishing the Falcons captain a speedy recovery, Ikpea said attention must now shift to the crucial tie against Cameroon, warning the team against complacency.

“Our attention should now be on our next clash with the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, and I pray that our medical team will do their best to ensure that Ajibade is back by then.

However, the Super Falcons must not relax and see the Indomitable Lioness as a walkover, they must be ready to give their best and secure the Olympics ticket,” he concluded.

The Super Falcons will be looking to secure the LA 2028 ticket and fly Nigeria’s flag in the women’s football event, after making a return to the global showpiece in 2024 edition after missing three consecutive editions before then.
