2023 Election: NNPP Governorship aspirant promises to transform Gombe State

By Ifeanyi Eduzor

New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP) Governorship aspirant for Gombe State in the 2023 General election, Hon. Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki says he is the man to beat in the election just as he promised massive development of the state when he assumes the mantle of leadership come next year.

The youthful governorship aspirant told newstap.com in Lagos that his good works in the past endeared him to the people of the state explaining that when he assumes office as Governor, the state will witness massive development and empowerment of the teeming youths to make them self employed and useful citizens of the country.

According to the former two term member of the Federal House of Representatives who is also President of Mailantarki Care Football Club, his pedigree as a grassroots politician and youths mobiliser will go a long way to ensure victory for him at the polls positing that among all the contestants jostling to occupy the state’s government house, he’s the most qualified and most accepted among the electorates of the state.

“Gombe State electorates are now wiser on who they can entrust the state for massive development and the teeming youths and women of the state are rooting for me to take charge and move the state forward.

” My cardinal object when I become the Governor next year by the special Grace of God is to embark on massive infrastructural development of the state as well as human capital development because when you achieve that, the youths and women will be empowered to become self employed and useful citizens of the society”, he stressed.

On whether he is not afraid of candidates of other big parties like APC and PDP , he declared that rather than been afraid of them, it is the other way round because the youths who make up the majority of the voters are solidly behind him and were instrumental to his coming out to vie for the position of the state’s Chief Executive.

“I m not afraid of candidates of other parties, rather they’re the ones afraid of my rising profile because in terms of experience, am the most qualified for the job and I am also a grassroots politician and the teeming youths of Gombe are solidly behind me.

“For your information, in 2011 when I was elected into the Federal House of Representatives, I had the record of scoring the highest number of votes amongst all the 360 members of the house and I also returned to the House in the eight assembly with massive support from the youths and I have no doubt that our youths will also give me that support in the Governorship election which I m confident of winning.

He also expressed optimism that with the new electoral law, people’s vote will count and there will be no room for rigging or manipulation of election result.

“I’m very positive that with the new technology introduced in our electoral system coupled with the new electoral law, people’s vote will count this time around. Any body thinking of rigging, falsification of results or snatching of ballot boxes will be living in a fool’s paradise because this time around millions of youths will vote and their votes will count,” he concluded.
