2027: Madumere, Onyereri, Ejiogu, arrive Imo State with PDP Certificate Of Returns

Owerri, Imo State capital and its environ was agog yesterday as the three senatorial candidates of People’s Democratic Party, PDP stormed the State with their officially presented Certificate of Returns from the frontline opposition political party, even as they assured the masses of qualitative representations.

The candidates are the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, (Owerri Zone); Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, Candidate for Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone); and High Chief Mike Duru Ejiogu, Candidate for Imo North Senatorial District, (Okigwe Zone).

Recall that the certificates were presented and issued to them last Tuesday at the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, upon the successful conclusion of the party’s democratic nomination process for the 2027 general elections.

It is instructive to note that this presentation formally certifies their emergence as the duly elected Senatorial Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party for the forthcoming general elections in the State.

The event equally marked another historical milestone in the party’s preparations for the general elections.

Speaking , Prince Madumere expressed optimism and reaffirmed commitment to providing effective and qualitative representations, strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, and working towards the electoral success of the party across the three senatorial zones of the State.

The American trained technocrat expressed confidence in his competence, capacity, experience, reach and contacts to effectively serve the citizenry and deliver dividends of democracy.

The human capital development expert highlighted that his quest in the National Assembly would be to empower the youths, through jobs creation, provision of basic needs amenities.

Madumere reiterated that women and the elderly would also be provided with great opportunities to excel and enhance their potentials within the Senatorial zone and the State at large.

Madumere further re-emphasized that windows of opportunities would be created by providing basic needs and job opportunities to the teeming populace and great educational, vocational, and economic opportunities within the country and overseas.

According to him, this vision is anchored in his blueprint and passion to liberate the populace and create pathways for self-reliance, economic stability, and global exposure for the youths.

The political icon observed that the Senatorial zone is gifted with talented and hardworking youths who possess diverse potentials but appears limited by economic trends, unemployment, lack of opportunities, and inadequate access to global platforms that could assist them contribute adequately to societal growth and sustainability.

According to him, “the youths are the greatest assets we have as a nation . We must invest in them properly, provide opportunities, mentorship, and support systems, they will transform the nation, positively and contribute immensely to global developmental Agendas.”

He said it point blank that poverty eradication cannot be achieved through short-term mechanism but through championing strategic investment and planning in human capital development, education, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunities that enable citizens to become financially buoyant.

The Owerri zone senatorial hopeful expressed profound gratitude to the National Secretary of PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (SamDaddy) for his immense contributions to the advancement and stability of the party in the State.

He also eulogized the national leader of PDP, Barr. Nyesom Wike for his fatherly roles in unifying the party nationally and served as the pillar in which the party is progressively marching on triumphantly.

Madumere maintained that, “we must change the narrative, Owerri Zone must be liberated and the time is now . We must reclaim our common heritage and serve the people conscientiously, the time for the citizenry to feel the impact of democracy is now and there will be no excuses.

“I urge the Owerri zone electorate and stakeholders to embrace this paradigm shift anchored on transparency, visibility, and connectivity, which represents the vision and cardinal program of the Journey of Grace” he passionately advised.
