Dogo happy at Wikki, not thinking of dumping club -Club management

The management of Wikki Tourists has dismissed reports that the club’s manager, Kabiru Dogo is set to dump the team.

The management in a release said Dogo is happy at the club and has in fact pledged his commitment to the team for the next season.

The management stressed that Dogo has in fact disassociated himself from the news making the rounds that he is not getting enough support to build a solid team that can compete for laurels.

The club’s release stated in part…”Wikki Tourists fc is solely owned by the Bauchi State Government and all necessary support is given to the club and we say kudos to His Excellency Governor Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir for that.

On two occasions this season the Governor through the Management of the Club appreciated the efforts of the players by motivating them with some cash award apart from ensuring payment of their salaries as and when due, while also personally attending our matches at the ATB Stadium Bauchi.

The Management of Wikki Tourists also ensures that before every home game, players are camped outside their normal accommodation at the games village all in an effort to motivate them for optimal result.

It’s on record that the Chairman of the club Balarabe Yusuf Douglas on the eve of match day 32 against Rivers United visited the players at their camp and presented them with cash gifts to further motivate them.

The Secretary to the State Government on the invitation of Management was at the Stadium on  match day 32 against Rivers United where he re emphasized the State Government’s commitments to the welfare of the team and further encourage them to do more.

As we write, the management of Wikki Tourists fc  has been able to pay reasonable amount of Match bonuses despite government’s lean resources and other competing demands which is highly commendable.

When Kabiru Dogo took over the team at the beginning of the season, he was given free hand by the Management to recruit his players and almost a new team was assembled and gladly the position of the team currently on the log is far better that what it was last Season after playing same number of Matches.

Gladly, Coach Kabiru Dogo has dissociated himself from the report which alleged that he wants to dump the club. Dogo said, he was shocked when he saw the report in an online medium insisting that he can not abandon a project he took time to build. The coach has re assured that his mission is to stabilize the team this season and compete for laurels next season.

Finally, the Management of the Club under the leadership of Balarabe Yusuf Douglas wish to express her continued appreciation to His Excellency the Governor for his support to the team which is immeasurable.

We also appreciate the efforts of the players, Technical Crew and all others who are contributing meaningfully to the development of the team.”
