The 2023 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s basketball league is now expected to dunk off Tuesday, in Akure, Ondo State Capital, after the seemingly unpreparedness of the Ondo State Sports Council, that made the league management committee of Nigeria Basketball Federation to move the championship to Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Consequent upon a letter from the Ondo State Sports Council, reassuring the NBBF that the basketball facility at the Akure Indoor Sports Hall will be ready for use for the first phase of the Atlantic Conference of the 2023 NBBF/Zenith Women’s basketball league, the NBBF has decided to reverse the decision and return the championship to Akure.
The NBBF, in a letter signed by its Secretary-General Peter Njoku, has informed the Atlantic Conference teams including, MFM Basketball Club,, First Bank, Sunshine Angels, IGP Queens, Delta Queens, Bayelsa Queens, Dolphins and First Deep Waters Basketball teams , to proceed to Akure, for the championship.
