Balmoral Promotions on Thursday presented the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) titles to three Nigerians champions who excelled at three weights categories at a ceremony held in Lagos.
Top of the trio was Gooday ‘Zodsolo’ Appah who claimed the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title after he defeated Ezra Areyenka in the title fight.
Also, WBO Africa Lightweight champion Basit Adebayo and Taiwo Agbaje who emerged as the new WBO Africa Featherweight champion were also honoured and presented with their respective belts.
One of the key stakeholders Osa Bazuu who is the founder of N Effect Mode Limited highlighted the significance of the occasion.
“At N Effect Mode, we are committed to taking Nigerian boxing and sports to the next level. Today’s presentation is more than just a celebration of achievements, it’s a statement about the future of Nigerian athletes and their ability to compete and succeed at the global stage. These champions”, he continued, ” have demonstrated tremendous dedication and determination and we believe they are capable of achieving even greater success at the world stage,” he declared.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Balmoral Group Ezekiel Adamu who was elated at the success recorded by the pugilists and the subsequent presentation of their belts at the ceremony described the day as celebration of excellence and hard work and the growing strength of Nigerian boxing.
” We are proud to honour these champions and remain committed to creating platforms that enable Nigerian athletes to compete at highest levels and bring international recognition to our country and the continent”, he said.
Other stakeholders including promoters, managers and the members of the media were present at the event.
