Emir of Kano Receives BAHGIA Royal Leadership Recognition Ahead of July 5 Awards in Lagos

A delegation of the Black African History Global Iconic Awards, BAHGIA, has paid a courtesy visit to His Highness Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, Emir of Kano, as part of sensitization programmes ahead of the inaugural awards.

During the visit, the BAHGIA Royal Leadership Recognition was formally presented to the Emir in acknowledgement of his contributions to leadership, cultural preservation, and national unity.

His Highness graciously received the delegation and expressed goodwill towards the BAHGIA initiative, offering prayers and best wishes to the BAHGIA Global Summit and Award.

The courtesy visit is part of build-up activities for the inaugural Black African History Global Iconic Awards, scheduled for July 5, 2026, at The Marriott Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

The awards are designed to recognise outstanding Africans and people of African descent who have made significant contributions across sports, politics, business, education, arts, entertainment, and community development.

President of BAHGIA, Ambassador Lovethpatra Ekufu, thanked the Emir for receiving the delegates and assured him of support for the awards ceremony.

Ekufu, a former kickboxing and MMA star, called on corporate organisations, government agencies, international bodies, and development partners to support the event.

She described it as a platform aimed at celebrating African excellence, promoting unity, and inspiring young people across the continent.

Am using this media to call on corporate bodies , the government and well to do on the continent to key into this initiative to promote unity in Africa ” She said

Vice President of BAHGIA, Charles Ezerime said one of the core objectives of the awards is to strengthen unity among Africans and people of African descent worldwide.


With the Emir’s endorsement, BAHGIA says it is intensifying engagements across the country ahead of the July 5 summit in Lagos.
