Peter Obi accuses lawmakers, SANs of defending forgery

..Says religious leaders now pray for criminals

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, in next year’s General election Mr. Peter Obi, on Tuesday accused senators, members of the House of representatives and Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SANs, of defending forgery and illegality in Nigeria.

Obi also accused religious leaders of praying for criminals.

Speaking in Bauchi Tuesday during this year’s Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Democracy Dialogue, he said, “Our lawmakers have removed forgery as an offense in electoral matters, our Senior Advocates are defending forgery while our religious leaders are now praying for criminal politicians for blessings.

“And above all, our judges are now singing ‘on your mandate we stand; saying that Nigeria is now in serious crisis

“I was just discussing with somebody I met here that a justice of the Supreme Court I have never met wrote the entire judgment that made me a governor.

“Where will you get that type of judgment in Nigeria today? It’s impossible. I never met her, I met her two years after being governor.

“I was in court for three years challenging my election and judges that I never met before, one day gave judgment in my favour, it can’t happen in Nigeria today.

“So I urge all of us that unexamined life is not worth living. It’s time for every Nigerian to sit down and ask ourselves – ‘where is Nigeria going?’, he concluded.
