Imo 2027: I’m on Redemption Mission, Says Reginald Amadi

An American-trained medical scientist and governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Reginald Amadi, has declared that his ambition to govern Imo State in 2027 is driven by what he described as a divinely inspired patriotic mission to alleviate the socio-economic challenges confronting the people and transform the state.
Amadi made the declaration on Sunday during a media parley with critical stakeholders in Imo State at his ancestral compound in Ezeogba Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area of the state.
The governorship hopeful commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for what he described as the transformational achievements of the Shared Prosperity administration, saying he possesses the capacity and experience required to consolidate on the gains recorded by the present administration.
According to him, his aspiration is not driven by desperation but by a longstanding desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of Imo State.
“I am not a desperate politician. My experiences, exposure and contacts have placed on me the burden to globally position Imo State, create an enabling environment and improve the welfare of the people.
“God knows that if given the mandate, I have the patriotic desire to better Imo State in all sectors through purposeful leadership and good governance.
“I have foreign contacts who are willing to collaboratively develop the state with their own resources. I am globally respected. Imo people, at this point in time, need people like me, and that is why I am seriously in the race,” he said.
Amadi, who reeled out his professional pedigree, experiences and antecedents, received applause from participants at the gathering as he spoke about his journey and achievements.
He expressed gratitude to God for what he described as the immense blessings upon his life, despite the circumstances of his family background.
The aspirant further explained that his ambition to govern Imo State was not an accidental development, but a longstanding aspiration fuelled by his desire to champion an infrastructural revolution and develop the human capacity of the people.
He maintained that Imo State possesses the human and material resources required to achieve sustainable development, stressing that prudent management of those resources would be central to his administration if elected.
Amadi also advocated greater transparency and accountability in the management of public funds, identifying poor management of public resources as one of the major obstacles to Nigeria’s development.
He pledged to change what he described as the prevailing narrative through responsible leadership, transparency and prudent utilisation of public resources.
While soliciting the support of Ndi Imo and Nigerians at large, Amadi expressed confidence in his capacity to contribute to the repositioning of the state.
However, he added that his ambition remained subject to the will of God, stressing that if another aspirant emerged whom God deemed better equipped for the responsibility, he would not hesitate to support such a person.
