FIFA U-17 Women W/Cup : Chief Onyeani congratulates Flamingoes for booking final ticket
President of Ahudiyannem Football Club, Chief Dr. Robert Onyeani has congratulated the country’s U-17 women national team ” The Flamingoes for their qualification for the finals of the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup in Morocco.
The Flamingoes Wednesday night made history by beating Brazil 3-1 to qualify for their first ever U-17 world cup finals and Chief Onyeani believes that the girls deserve to be celebrated.
In his congratulatory message, he commended the players for their discipline, composure and tactical approach to the game which gave them victory over a big football playing nation like Brazil; saying that he’s happy and proud of their achievement.
” I want to say a very big congratulation to the team and the technical crew for this achievement. Your discipline, composure in front of goal and tactical approach to the match gave you victory and you’re worthy ambassadors of the country”, he stated.
Chief Onyeani who is a well known promoter of female football in the country however, charged the girls not to relent on their effort but to put in their best and bring the coveted trophy back to the country.
” My advice to the team is that they should remain focused and not be carried away by the victory but to go all out and win the trophy for the first time.and make Nigerians proud
” I also want them to realise that Japan is not a push over in female football and as such should approach the final match on Saturday with all seriousness it deserves, and I can assure them that victory will be theirs”, concludes his statement.
