AIWF African heavyweight belt unveiled in Cotonou

Allied Independent Wrestling Federation ( AIWF) has unveiled it’s African heavyweight title belt to be contested for by the best heavyweight wrestlers in the continent.
Performing the unveiling ceremony on the sidelines of the two day training programme in Cotonou, Benin Republic, President of Allied Independent Wrestling Federation for Africa, Olusesan Olukoya explained that the belt was sent in by the international body.
According to him, the Federation will soon announce date for the fight which will be open to all fighters in the continent even as explained that the eventual winner will have six months to defend the title.
” We have been expecting this belt for the past two weeks and since it came on the eve of the wrestling programme in Benin Republic, we decided to unveil it here and officially announce that it will be contested for among all the heavyweight fighters in the continent and whoever wins it, will become the continental champion but he must have six months to defend it”, he explained.
Olukoya further explained that the championship belt is part of the efforts by AIWF to further develop the mats man game in the continent; saying that the belt is an indication that the Federation is desirous about seeing African wrestlers excel.
