SEDC: Ogbede drums support for Tinubu

Following the setting up and appointment of a management team for the South East Development Commission, (SEDC), Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Dr. Cliff Ogbede has called for the unflinching support of South East geopolitical zone to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Ogbede spoke during an interactive session with journalists of Ngor Okpala extraction who paid him a courtesy/solidarity visit at his Umuekwune-Obiangwu country home in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State.
He described the creation of SEDC as a courageous response to the clarion call for the implementation of the post-civil war principle of ‘No victor, no vanquished,’ anchored on the 3Rs of Reconciliation, Reconstruction and Reintegration.
Dr Ogbede who was appointed as the Executive Director in charge of Agriculture, Rural Development and Natural Resourses in the newly constituted management team of the commission maintained that the SEDC will address all the nagging and naughty issues fueling separatist agitations in the South East.
According to him, the ultimate way to salute and appreciate the gesture of President Tinubu in treading the path his predecessors dreaded will be giving total support to the current administration by the people of the zone.
He applauded the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu for his dogged fight to actualize the passage of the bill as well as the Presidential accent to create the Commission.
“Tinubu has done something great nobody ever did for South East and Ndigbo since after the war. He has given us the opportunity to have our region rebuilt, long after it was devastated by the war. All we need to do now is to rally support for his administration in appreciation and to enable him do more for our zone.
“The commission has provisions in the 2025 budget and we are going to be better for it, when the funds are released. With the commission in place and contributing its quota in infrastructure development, coupled with State and Local Government governments’ inputs, our zone is set to witness massive socio economic expansion,” he said.
Ogbede who described his appointment as an act of God posited that the creation of SEDC is going to provide the needed panacea to insecurity and perennial agitations for an independent state.
He promised to use the new opportunity to work for the state and the zone at large while encouraging journalists to partner with him and the Commission to deliver on the statutory mandate of developing South East.
