A world class goal! That was what the Anambra State commissioner for Local government Collins Nwabunwanne scored to steal the show in the opening match of the Anambra All Stars football tournament at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday.
Nwabunwanne who came in as a second half sub spent barely five minutes on the turf before blasting in a blistering volley for Awka City Elites, a goal that saw his side run away with a 1-0 victory over Okpoko All Stars.
The youthful commissioner who spoke after the encounter that was watched by the state deputy governor Dr Onyeka Ibezim was full of praise for Anambra FA chairman Chikelue Iloenyosi who he noted is changing the face of Anambra football.
“Chikelue has done well…he has shown capacity and as a government we will support him. You can see the Deputy Governor is here and has seen what the FA is doing. Chikelue is doing a great job,” Nwabunwanne stated.
