African blind football tourney: Star Eagles record victory against Cote d’Ivoire

The Nigerian Blind football team(the Star Eagles), featuring at the on-going IBSA 5th African Blind football Championship holding at Stade Municipal Elmasoria, Bouznika, Morocco, on Saturday September 17, defeated Cote D’Ivoire 1-0 in their opening game to record their first win in the tournament.
The Star Eagles which is fully funded by BINA Foundation alongside their female counterparts(the star Falcons), will today, (Monday September 19),  tackle Egypt in their second game before their wednesday’s September 21 crunch encounter against the defending champions and host nation, Morocco.
Nigeria will conclude her round robin preliminary games on Thursday september 22 when the Star Eagles file out against Mali to decide the two finalists for Friday sept 23 grand finale.
Despite hosting the last edition in Enugu, South East Nigeria in 2019, Nigeria finished 4th while Morocco that won the championship went ahead to win bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Ganes in Japan after defeating many European countries.
