Yuletide: Umuohiagu Unity Cup gets underway

The annual Umuohiagu Unity Cup got underway today with the defending champions, Amauga taking on their Ojigbo brothers, Umuchoko in what could pass for a local derby.
Interestingly, this year’s edition of the Christmas tournament has received a boost courtesy of individual and corporate sponsors.
The list of sponsors include Anyanwu Chikadibia (Kasha), who is the Mega Sponsor, MG Mebnik Global, Ala Bekee Pharmaceutical Laboratory Service and Quality Drugs, Water Plant Fish Pharm, Aba and Herbethvic Multipurpose Ventures, Aba.
The tournament which is organized by Umuohiagu Football Association (UFA) is taking place at St Micheal’s Primary School playground nicknamed…The Maracana.
UFA has charged all the teams and players to make discipline their watchword and eschew all manner of violence.
