Bayelsa Utd Management Sends Goodwill Message to Maikaba, Flying Eagles ahead of WAFU B U-20 Championship
Bayelsa United Management Board has sent a goodwill message to Head Coach Abdul Maikaba and the Flying Eagles ahead of the WAFU B U-20 Championship, expressing confidence in the team’s preparedness to make Nigeria proud.
A club statement signed by the chairman Dr. Peter Singabele wishes Maikaba and the Flying Eagles success in their upcoming assignment, reaffirming support for Nigerian football and youth development.
Abdul Maikaba who was recently named Bayelsa United Technical Adviser and chief coach would lead Nigeria’s Flying Eagles as they begin the defence of their WAFU B U-20 Championship title against arch-rivals Ghana in a repeat of the last edition’s final in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, on Monday (today).

The statement also called on football loving Nigerians to rally round Coach Maikaba and the Flying Eagles as they get set to bring soccer glory and honour to the country.
The rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana dates back to 1951 and has produced several memorable contests across senior, youth, and women’s football.
Nigeria will face Togo on July 30 at the same venue before rounding off their group campaign against Burkina Faso on August 2.
Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. local time (3 p.m. Nigeria time).
