Players of Rangers International of Enugu has been told to go all out and win the Federation Cup on Wednesday in Asaba.
The charge is coming all the way from the United States of America where the club’s patron Benson Ezeomeogo Ejindu (MVP) has pledged to spoil the players a little should they lift the trophy.
The Flying Antelopes as the Enugu club are fondly called would be up against Insurance at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba in the final of the tournament which is the nation’s most glamorous football tournament.
Ejindu in a chat with newstap.com.ng disclosed that he has spoken to the captain of Rangers wishing the team the very best as they go into the final.
“I have spoken with the captain wishing them the very best. And as I did when they were battling relegation, I have pledged to lift them with financial support should they win the trophy.”
The North Carolina based Rangers patron urged fans of the club from different parts of the country to storm Asaba for the all important final even as he charged the nation’s soccer governing body to ensure no team enjoys undue advantage.
“We want to see the best team emerge winner of the coveted trophy. Officiating should be good so that whoever wins would be worthy champions,” Ejindu stated.
It is recalled that Ejindu had during the league made a pledge to support the players financially should they escape relegation, a pledge which he has since fulfilled.
