Continental campaign: Ex Rangers in USA back club…Flying Antelopes win big in Addis

Rangers bid to do well in the continent, where they are flying Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Confederation Cup, has received a big boost from the United States of America (USA).
Some former players of the club (ex Rangers) in the States have resolved to support the club financially with the setting up of a Rangers Support Fund.
Patron of USA based ex Rangers association, Benson Ezeomego Ejindu disclosed yesterday that the desire of the body is to see Rangers do well in the continent.
“Our desire is to see Rangers do well in the continent and we are doing something from this end to help the club. We have set up a Rangers Support Fund aimed at raising money for the club. Ex Rangers like Emman Merenini, Nnamdi Anyafo, Sam Onyeka, Totty Totty, Ikechukwu Ofoje, Charles Okoye,Okey Chika, Kenneth Boardman and Donnie Ikpa are involved in the project,” Ejindu disclosed.
The Rangers patron fondly called MVP by his admirers had only last week doled out N1m to the players as a way of saying thank you for a job well during the Federation Cup. He also splashed another N1m on the team which helped Rangers to sign on Ivorian import Pascal Seka.
It would be noted that Rangers on Wednesday in Addis Ababa zoomed into the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after beating Defence FC of Ethiopia 3-1 away. Rangers moved ahead 5-1 on aggregate having won the first leg in Enugu last week by 2-0.
