Ekwueme moves to paint Owerri red with soccer, beauty show

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Ifeanyi Ekwueme has concluded plans to paint Owerri, the Imo state capital red this summer with soccer and beauty pageant.
The Poland based ex international disclosed yesterday that he would be organizing the maiden edition of a soccer tournament that would involve the nation’s All Stars at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
The tournament tagged All Star Football Tournament is to run from July 19-21 with teams from Lagos, Abuja, Asaba and Umuahia participating.
The tournament is to be garnished with a beauty show that would be held at the Villa Gardens Banquet hall, Owerri on the nights of July 20 and 21.
“The official logo of the tournament is ready and it would be unveiled in the weeks ahead. It is going to be a carnival of some sort because what we intend to organize is football and beauty show,” Ekwueme said.
Ekwueme said the match balls and jerseys to be used during the tournament would come from Tico Select, a reputable sports wear manufacturing outfit.
