Umuohiagu women celebrate Christmas with motherless babies

The Umbrella body of Umuohiagu women in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo state on Wednesday December 28 spoilt kids at the Emekuku Mothers babies home and Eziama Children’s Centre a little.

The women,led by their President, Mrs Justina Ozoemena paid a visit to the two motherless babies homes run by the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri where they were received by the Rev Sisters in charge of the homes.

Mrs Ozoemena and her members during the visit presented several food items to the homes in the spirit of the season.

Mrs Ozoemena told Newstap.com.ng that their visit was to identify with the less privileged in line with the teaching of Jesus Christ who is being celebrated this season.

“This is a time to show love no matter how little. Our visit to the motherless babies homes is our own little way of showing love this Yuletide season,” Mrs Ozoemena said.

She said the women are also praying for peace to reign in Umuohiagu autonomous community and the country as the 2023 election approaches.

She urged women not to sell their PVCs but to vote for credible leaders who would turn things around in the country.
