Ikwunze “Mr Football ” thumbs up Eagles

By George Aluo
Renowned football analyst, Ejikeme Ikwunze has given a pat on the back to the Super Eagles after Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Brazil in Singapore, declaring their performance as spectacular.
Ikwunze who has authored several books on football noted that the new legs being introduced by German tactician Gernot Rohr are doing well and adding value to the team.
The former Abia State Director of Sports (DOS) in an email to newstap.com.ng stated:
“Kudos to the Eagles for their spectacular outing against Brazil. I am happy with the few players brought in including those on the bench . The challenge is now for the Gernot Rohr Technical crew to mould a team that will fall more into the likely to win and difficult to defeat category. Work should continue to be in progress…”
Last Sunday’s friendly was one in which Scotland based Joe Ayodele Aribo, one of the new kids on the block scored for the Eagles. Aribo alongside the likes of Samuel Chukwueze, Semi Ajayi and Victor Osimhen have been getting accolades from the nation’s soccer fans.
It would be noted that Ikwunze, fondest called “Mr Football” by his admirers, has been honored by world soccer governing body, FIFA for his immeasurable contributions to the development of the round leather game.
