Imo State is sick, says Amadi

Against the background in certain quarters, that Imo State under the Shared Prosperity administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma have embarked on people oriented governance, received accelerated infrastructural developments and transformations, Dr. Mathew Chima Amadi (Mazi GburuGburu) has carpeted the leadership for allegedly subjecting the State into sickness in all known sectors of socio economic indexes used for the assessment of good governance and developmental purposes.
Amadi who hails from Umuekunne Ngor Okpuala Local Government Area of the State and also the 2027 Imo East (Owerri senatorial zone) candidate of Action People’s Party, APP said this on Thursday at a popular hotel in Owerri during a strategic meeting with the members of Mbaitoli/Ikeduru (Mbaike) Lecturers Association, Imo State chapter.
The well attended interactive meeting was envisioned to solicit for collaborative partnership, support and cooperation with the academia during the forthcoming political dispensation, in view of their strategic importance in the society and especially during elections.
According to the Senatorial hopeful who’s also the founder and financier of The Mazi Organization, a grassroot oriented campaign structure,
“Imo State is sick, Imo State is very very sick. Socioeconomically the State is sick and gone. It ranks among the lest in terms of infrastructural developments and transformations in Nigeria and with a high statistical poverty rate among the populace.
“Educational institutions in the State are in deplorable conditions, ditto the State health care delivery sectors; the rate of insecurities is alarming, people are living in perpetual fear with banditry, killings and kidnappings here and there.
“The only institution thriving in Imo State today are churches. Infact, Imo State have failed in all indexes of developments and transformations, despite jumbo monthly allocations from the Federation Account and whopping internally generated revenue” Amadi attested.
The Senatorial hopeful also decried the alleged spending of 19.6B Naira for the renovation of Concord Hotel, Owerri now Hilltop Concord Hotel, Owerri as an over bloated spending of public funds by the State government, insisting that under financial prudence and transparency that such an amount would have built 3 brand new of the same quality standard hotel.
Amadi who earlier described himself as a Trader, Researcher, Scholar, Politician and a Lecturer also canvassed for the adoption of what he described as multi dimensional economic developmental strategy, in which its application would be beneficial to the majority of the people and uplifts the state’s socio economic activities.
He dared the teachers against the existence of conspiracy of silence in the state, while reminding them of their social responsibilities role as opinion moulders with positive revolutionary ideas.
Mazi GburuGburu as he is popularly known and called, further solicited for their support and cooperation as one of them, insisting that education is not a scam but an enabler for holistic developments and transformations of humanity and the society at large.
Earlier, Barr. Henry Onwukwe, the Director General of The Mazi Organization who commended members of the association for their willingness to have mutual partnership with the politician’s vision for revolutionary transformation of the State “moribund” educational system through institution of good and purposeful governance.
Onwukwe popularly known as Apiti Uzo Ubi also lamented over the existence of perceived bad governance which he said is mistakenly instituted by the electorates and canvassed the absolute need for correction in the next political dispensation for the betterment of the society.
He enjoined them to be vanguard in the campaign organization’s patriotic desire to produce good leadership by the calibre of people to be elected, even as he applauded Amadi for his sacrificial and patriotic leadership commitments in uplifting the State and the nation at large.
The Director General reiterated that his principal has been on the vanguard for enthronement of visionary and purposeful leadership and deserve the people’s support and cooperation.
He cautioned against election rigging noting that Amadi’s political vision and mission is to be the Governor of Imo State but wants to strategically start with the Senatorial representations as a prelude to actualization of his divinely driven Governorship ambition.
Onwukwe further applauded the business mogul turned astute politician philanthropic gestures to humanity which he described as unprecedented in helping humanity in the State.
He urged them to be part of the crusade for good and compassionate governance in the State, just as he assured them never to regret the participatory roles expected of them to play during the forthcoming political dispensation.
Responding, Dr. Churchill Nwaokoroafor the Coordinator of the Association expressed satisfaction on the sterling leadership qualities of Amadi and assured him of their willingness to ensure free, fair and credible elections.
