The Lagos Chapter of the Imo State University Alumni Association (IMSUAA) on Sunday, October 18, 2026, re-elected Dr. Prince Joseph Nwulu for a second term as Chairman.
The election which took place inside the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos showed that members have reposed confidence in him. Nwulu becomes the third member in the history of the Lagos Chapter to secure a second term since its founding about 15 years ago. Only Barr. Chinwe Mbakwe and High Chief Enyioha Chris Anyanwu had accomplished such a feat respectively.
He was declared re-elected by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Nze Chibueze Anukanti, who issued him a certificate of return after he emerged unopposed.
The contest would have been competitive as Sam Anokam was nominated for the Chairmanship, but Anokam declined, stating that Nwulu deserved a second term to stabilize the chapter and return Power House to its path of glory.
Mrs. Vivian Chukwuocha, tipped by many for national office, was also returned unopposed as Vice Chairman.
Kizito Ihezie, Edna Onyeanuforo, Chika Egeonu and Oluchi Ibeh were unanimously returned as General Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer and Provost respectively. This action shows that members believe the executive has unfinished business.
Veteran journalist Sam Anokam, appointed as Public Relations Officer a few months ago, was officially elected to the position. Kasarachi Ajaero, noted for her dedication, was elected Social Secretary for a first term.
This is the first time in ten years that about 70% of the executive members were re-elected.
The new executive’s first assignment will be the maiden edition of Chapter’s Day scheduled for November 21, 2026, at Elomaz Hotel, Maryland.
Members’ welfare, alumni development and a strategic business roundtable are expected to top the agenda.
