Man Utd boost Champions League hopes with win at Chelsea

Manchester United have taken a massive step towards securing Champions League football after their hard-fought 1-0 win against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Red Devils claimed all three points at Stamford Bridge courtesy of Matheus Cunha’s first-half goal.

It was nervy for Michael Carrick’s side, who had to fend off wave after wave of Chelsea attack, as the hosts searched for a response to ease the rising pressure on Liam Rosenior. But United held on to strengthen their grip on third place.

Manchester United, came into the clash dealing with a crisis in defence, but ended up coming away with their first clean sheet in nearly two months. Chelsea, meanwhile, couldn’t find their shooting boots and have now lost their last four Premier League games.
