Qatar 2022: IMC boss congratulates Morocco

Chairman of the nation’s interim league management body, IMC, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye has congratulated Morocco for landing in the World Cup semi final.

Elegbeleye said the Moroccans deserve to be where they are given their hard work and determination.

The former DG of the defunct National Sports Commission (NSC) attributed Morocco’s success to the consistency they have shown in the development of their local league.

He noted that top Moroccan clubs like RAJA Casablanca, Wydad and RAF have been doing well in the continent, even as they rely heavily on their home based players.

Elegbeleye said Morocco’s success would rob off positively on the game in the continent even as he assured that the IMC would ensure that the nation’s domestic league becomes very strong and competitive.

“If we all resolve to make our league better, we have the potentials as a nation to surpass what Morocco has done. We ve got the talents and all we need do is to harness them properly. I urge every football stakeholder to rally round the IMC to enable us get it right in the NPFL.

“I congratulate Morocco and wish them well in the semi final. Who says they can not go all the way and reach the World Cup final and possibly lift the trophy,” Elegbeleye said.
