S’East basketball associations recognize Kida as NBBF President

The board of the South East Basketball Association says it recognizes Engr Musa Kida as the only authentic Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) president.

This was one of its resolutions during a meeting in Owerri on Wednesday.

In a communiqué released on Friday, the association, which is the representative of all South East States Basketball Associations, stated, “The board of the South East Basketball Association completely alligns, recognizes the elected executive board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation headed by Engr Musa Kida.”

Consequently, the board agreed to harmonize its calendar of events with that of the Nigeria Basketball Federation to avoid any clash, while it also asked the association basketball development manager to formulate a template for developing the game in the South East.

In its bid to develop the game in the region, the board identified the indoor facilities in the South East with a view of putting them to good use and also rehabilitating and building new ones.

As part of its desire to develop the game, the board says its doors are open to private participation in basketball infrastructure, team ownerships, tournaments and camps.

It expressed very deep appreciation to the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR in person, and the Federal Government as a whole for the continued tremendous support for the activities, events, and programs of the Nigeria Basketball Federation.

The board also thanked the various South Eastern state governors for their support and provision of enabling environment for the game to grow.
