Strategic partners of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the nation’s domestic league, GTI Group have declared that their mission is to make the league a viable one.

GTI’s Ineh Nelson who spoke Tuesday in Lagos said the vision is to make the league contribute at least 0.05 percent to the nation’s GDP in the next couple of years.

He noted that the league is a national asset which if well nurtured would blossom into big business in 10 years.

He stressed that GTI’s involvement is already yielding dividend given the gains the league has made in four months.

“From what we have done in four months, there is hope in the horizon. The NPFL is getting better and becoming more competitive. By our projections in 10 years we would be up there competing with some of the best leagues in the world.”

Nelson said once a solid foundation has been laid the corporate world and rich individuals would invest in the league insisting that some clubs, especially those being run by government would naturally bow out.

“What we are doing in conjunction with IMC is to put in place the kind of reforms that would make the league attractive for investors and the good thing is that the IMC is being run by men who have the will to get things done the right way.”
