AFCON: President of Catholic Bishops prays for Eagles in Côte d’Ivoire, says trophy coming home

The President of Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) Archbishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji on Sunday offered special prayers for the Super Eagles here in Abidjan at the Saint Jacque Catholic Church, Cocody.
Archbishop Ugorji who is the Archbishop of Owerri archdiocese is in Côte d’Ivoire alongside other West African Catholic bishops for a conference.
While praying for the Eagles after the 11 am mass the amiable cleric said he sees the AFCON trophy coming home…”the players are doing well, the NFF is doing well…you people are coming home with the trophy…it will happen,” he prayed.

The archbishop offered prayers for the chairman of Nigeria National League (NNL) and board member of NFF, George Aluo who worshipped at the the Saint Jacque Catholic Church.

The Catholic bishops conference going on in Abidjan is being attended by prelates from all West African countries with the Archbishop of Abdijan Cardinal Jean-Pierre Kutwa as chief host.
