Elegbeleye thanks constituents after senatorial primary victory
...Calls for unity ahead 2027 polls

Chairman of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Gbenga Elegbeleye has thanked APC delegates in Ondo North Senatorial Zone for their massive support which gave him victory in the just concluded concluded primaries in the state.
In the primary election conducted by the party Tuesday, Elegbeleye won the Ondo North Senatorial District by polling 28,062. Ajipe Alex secured 17,313 votes, while Olajide Ipinsagba recorded 9,819 votes.
Speaking on his victory, the one time Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC) who has been a two time member of the House of Representatives, said that he was overwhelmed by the massive support he received from the delegates, noting that he’ll be ever grateful to them and never take them for granted.
” I want to thank all the delegates that voted for me which ensured my victory at the primaries. What this means is that they believe in what I can achieve in the red Chambers of the national assembly and I must commend them for their trust in me and promise not to disappoint them.
Elegbeleye while commending his opponents for their spirit of sportsmanship throughout the period of the primary election, reminded all party faithfuls on the need to be united ahead of the 2027 general election.
“As we have concluded the primaries, I want to remind all party faithfuls of our great party that we must be united going into next year’s election because it’s only unity that can assure us victory at the polls.
