Samson Siasia Stadium: Dickson commends Monimichelle, affirms commitment to sports development
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has expressed satisfaction at the level and quality of job done at the Samson Siasia sports complex in Yenagoa by Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Company.
The country man governor who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon Talford Ongolo, Bayelsa West Senator-elect, Barr. Lawrence Erhudjakpo and Chief Tiwe Orunimighe as part of the May Day activities paid an unscheduled assessment tour of the project site to assertain level of completion.
Describing the project as a landmark achievement of the restoration administration in boosting sports infrastructure and development in bayelsa state, the governor applauded the indigenous contracting firm, Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Limited for deploying the best materials and technical manpower on the job which currently places the stadia as one of the best in the country and west africa.
According to Dickson, Bayelsa State government places high premium on sports development.
Berating the lack of maintainance culture which is a bane to sports development in Nigeria, the governor assured of active private sector participation by way of concession to ensure the edifice meets regular maintainance and capacity to shore up the internally generated revenue profile of the state.
In his remarks, the CEO Monimichelle Sports Facilities Construction Limited, Mr. Ebi Egbe extolled the governor for his unprecedented commitment to sports development with the installation of the first ever FULL PU athletic tracks with a 14 year warranty in sub saharan africa.
Mr Ebi Egbe thanked the governor for finding him worthy of service and a part of the success story in bayelsa state sport development and assured the project will be completed and ready for use within record time.
High point of the tour was the presentation of a football to the country man governor in honour of his strides in sports development.
