Ilaboya, Owan West boss wins Edo Youth Summit award

The pragmatic leadership of Owan West local government chairman, Hon Frank Ilaboya would be recognized at the Edo Youth Summit billed for Wednesday in Benin.
Organizers of the summit which is in its 4th edition disclosed yesterday that the youthful Owan West boss has been nominated to receive an award of recognition during the event which holds at the New Festival Hall, Edo State Government House.
Organizers of the summit in a letter to Hon Ilaboya stated that the award is being bestowed on him courtesy of his human capital development efforts.
The letter signed by the Managing Director of Edo State Skills Development Agency, Ukinebo Dare stated in part…”We are pleased to inform you that you have been nominated to receive an award of recognition as the Most Supportive Local Government chairman as part of your contributions to human capital development.”
Interestingly, the award is being bestowed on Hon Ilaboya back to back as he also won it last year.
Ilaboya it would be noted has since assumption of office made youth and women empowerment a top priority.
It would be noted that this year’s summit is coming a day to the inauguration of His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki into his second term in office.
The organizers have therefore resolved to focus on Governor Obaseki’s vision which is for young people to play a key part in his MEGA agenda (Making Edo Great Again).
The theme of this year’s Summit is ‘Transitioning from Youth-Centered, to Youth-Driven Governance’.
In His first term in office, the Governor was focused on upskilling and empowering the young people in Edo. The second term agenda seeks to have young people actively drive various aspects of development and progress in the state.
