Volcan Junior confirmed for Africa Youth Cup 2020, as organizers hail SOA FC

Winners of the maiden edition of the Africa Youth Cup which took place early this year in Praia, Volcan Junior, have registered for the 2020 edition of the tournament billed for next summer.
The Ivorian academy which is the youth team of Societe OmniSport del Armee (SOA), defending champions of the Ivorian premier league won the maiden edition of the Africa Youth Cup after beating Pawas Academy from Jos, Nigeria.
Africa Youth Cup tournament director and top official of Serahanasports, Godson Ekadi who confirmed Volcan’s participation said he is impressed with Serahanasports’ partnership with Volcan describing their youth program as excellent.
Ekadi who watched SOA play last weekend at Stade Municipal de Yamoussoukro, in a game they beat arch rivals, Asec Mimosa by a lone goal said the structure of SOA is a unique one which other African teams need to emulate for football to grow in the continent.
“SOA has a unique structure and they are also the organizers of the prestigious TIDA youth tournament in Côte d’Ivoire. We are happy Volcan Junior is returning next year to the Africa Youth Cup to defend their trophy,” Ekadi said.
SOA are currently placed fourth on the Ivorian league table with eight points, after four games, while Asec are seventh with five points from the same number of matches. SOL FC lead the pack at the moment with nine points.
The TIDA youth soccer tournament is billed to run from November 16 to the first week of December this year.
