2023: Dare opts to stay with PMB, rejects calls to contest governorship or senatorial seat

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Chief Sunday Dare has rejected calls for him to run for either the governorship or senatorial seats in Oyo state preferring to complete his term.

“The assignment given to me on behalf of the Nigerian people by President Muhammadu Buhari is very important one for the development of our youths and sports. I have in the last 3 years committed to bringing about far reaching changes in these areas. Noble initiatives and policies are being delivered in these sectors. It is my desire to stand down and assist Mr. President complete his tenure and to leave a lasting legacy in the areas of Youth and Sports Development for Nigeria,” Dare stated.

Dare further noted that the APC equally has a Presidential election battle ahead to which he would work to ensure the party’s victory at the 2023 poll.

“I will make available my skills and experience like I did in 2015 and 2019 to help our party win the Presidency.”
