Fun, Talents Shine, Blue House Wins As Yeolan School Concludes 6th Biennial Inter-house Sports

A raw dose of budding talents was on display at the Yeolan Schools Biennial Inter-house where it’s students as well as invited schools participated in different events where athletics attracted most attention on the final day.
Parents, guardians with invited guests including the Vice-Chairman of the Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area Aina Moses converged at the Corona School Secondary School Field, Agbara Estate for the concluding day of the thrilling competition.
Students grouped in colour-themes of Yellow, Pink, Green and Blue competed in different events of athletics, match-past, sack race, thread-the-needle, slippers race, catch-the-train and, lime-and-spoon race.
Earlier, Yellow House captained by Okebukola Bolaji and Okechukwu Victorious had led the medals table with 4 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals after the conclusion of Athletics field events like javelin, discus, shotput, high jump, long jump, scrabble, ludo, chess and, snake and ladder before the closing day.
Activities then began with Match-Past where Yellow House was voted the winner.
The competing houses would take turns in chasing for honours and recognition at the colorful location as other events took place accordingly.
In the athletics track events, students contested in 50 metres, 75 metres and 100 metres in junior and senior boys and girls categories with one of the junior students posting a standout performance.
Jesse Ogunseye put up an outstanding show as he claimed gold medals in both the Boys’ 100 metres and the 4×100 metres events for Yellow House.
However, on the final medals table, Blue House would upstaged Yellow House to top with 15 gold, 17 silver, 10 bronze.
Yellow House occupied the second position 2nd with 12 gold,16 silver,
11 bronze.
Pink recorded 12 gold, 10 silver, 17 bronze while Green House take the rear with 10 gold, 6 Silver, and 10 bronze.
The schools’ Chairman Board of Governors Lanre Ogunyemi commended parents for entrusting their wards with the school as he maintained that the institution would continue to push for higher standards in moulding quality and better citizens for the development of the country especially in sports.
Proprietress Yemisi Ogunyemi appreciated parents for their dedication and creating time to attended the outdoor event.
She confessed that their presence indeed added colour to the event as she urged them to continue to partner the school in ensuring that the children develop in the right trajectory.
She further commended the Principal and other staff as she advised them to remain dedicated to the vision of the school.
