Trump Extends Iran Cease- Fire , says blockade of country’s ports will continue

President Donald Trump has announced that the U.S. will extend its cease-fire with Iran and continue the blockade of the country’s ports until its leaders could present a unified proposal.”
The move came after Vice President JD Vance cancelled plans to travel to Pakistan for negotiations. Mediators are racing to try to convince Iran to join the talks.
Neither Washington nor Tehran have told the go-betweens the talks will be canceled. The two-week cease-fire was due to expire tomorrow evening.
Earlier this week, Trump had signaled he was unlikely to extend it. Meanwhile, Tehran-backed Iraqi militias are launching explosive drones at Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
With this ceasefire extension, Trump has bought himself more time and indicates he is increasingly interested in ending the conflict.
