Atta citizens in North America set to improve healthcare back home

…Hold Convention/Fundraising in New Jersey

Atta citizens in North America and Canada have concluded plans to hold a convention and fundraising ceremony in May to help improve the healthcare system in their community in Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.

‎According to the Public Relations Officer of the Atta People’s Assembly Of North America and Canada, Evangelist Evelyn Childs, this year’s National Convention/Fundraising Gala Night with the theme: Improving Healthcare in Atta, would hold between May 22 and 24, 2026 in Irvington, New Jersey with election of qualified candidates into various positions of the executive committee.
‎The fundraising, she said, is intended to equip the health centers in Atta as well as construct a livable nursing, and matron’s quarters for the hospital’s staff.
‎She disclosed that President of the Association, Chief Godwin Ehirim is appealing to “Atta citizens in North America and their friends to rally round the Association to help it uplift the town”.
‎While appealing to every Attarian to join the Association in building the town, Chief  Ehirim stressed that they will also focus on the poor security in the area which he lamented was affecting the progress of Imo State.
‎”We are appealing to the Federal, State and Local governments to help Atta in the areas of security, road construction, social programs, and youth employment,”he said.
‎He called for unity among all Attarian leaders—both at home and abroad, including the Ezes, Nzes, PGS, and other community representatives, with a progressive and unified approach which will benefit the entire community.
‎Chief Ehirim regretted that the challenge of his Association includes recruiting members, obtaining commitment for financial support and strategic contributions to rebuild Atta.
‎This year’s convention would be hosted by New Jersey branch under the leadership of Sir Oliver Egenti, Mrs Chika Iwuanyanwu, Sir Justin Okafor, Engr. Barnabas Lewis and Lolo Stella Ezeilo.
